Thank you for your selflessness

Thank you to our care workers who continue to provide care in people’s homes during the COVID 19 pandemic. Let’s keep our local care workers in jobs and support local businesses, by continuing to receive services, because it is safe to do so.

It can’t be easy for you, our care and support workers, to leave the comfort of your own homes every day when everyone else is being encouraged to stay home. You continue to put others before yourselves ensuring everyone receives the support and services they require, helping to keep CCNB clients “Staying Well and Staying Connected”.

The work you do is about more than just providing a service at this time of social isolation. It is so much more. Your presence in the home breaks the monotony of the day for the client you are visiting. You are that conversation people are longing to have with someone. You are their connection with their community.

It has never been more important to ensure that the actions that you take, when visiting a client in their own home, are ensuring that the client remains healthy and safe. To keep everyone you visit safe and well, CCNB appreciate that you follow the Department of Health guidelines by not going to work:

  • If you have a sore throat, fever or respiratory symptoms
    • If you have been in contact with someone diagnosed with COVID 19
    • If you have not received the current flu vaccine

When visiting the clients home it is critical that you practice good hand hygiene and coughing and sneezing etiquette. We also strongly encourage you to wear a mask. Through taking these simple precautions it will keep you and the client you visit safe, enabling you, as a care worker, to keep delivering the wonderful service you provide to those who are most vulnerable in our community.

For this we say “Thank you for your selflessness”.
