Financial Health and Wellbeing for over 65’s: Demystifying Aged Care
January 22, 2019 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pmFREE
CCNB’s Information, Advice and Guidance Conversation Series focuses on issues that are important to people in our local community. In this session we will look at Financial Health and Wellbeing for people aged over 65: Demystifying Aged Care.
Research confirms that people over 65 often ignore their financial situation and fail to plan ahead for their ageing care needs. We often watch what we eat and drink; try and exercise more often to stay healthy; stay connected with family and friends and do things for ourselves. However, very few of us know the right questions to ask and where to get the information to make good financial decisions for the future. Actually, most of us are too afraid to ask the questions and often don’t trust that the information we receive is unbiased.
In the wake of the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry, there is even more confusion about who we can trust with our financial decisions. CCNB places a premium on impartiality and with regard to working with you to demystify the aged care system, you can trust that we act only in your best interests. We do not give specific financial advice, nor are we affiliated or associated with any financial services organisations or investment product providers. We do however have knowledge and expertise that helps people understand entitlements, ask the right questions, assess the information and make choices to help secure a healthy financial future.
CCNB’s Bruce Christie was a fully qualified Financial Adviser with 30 years’ experience and will talk about how your financial situation could be impacted by aging and more importantly, what you can do to take control. Come and learn about;
- How the aged care system works
- What benefits are you entitled to, and how do you qualify?
- What are the tricks and traps to avoid?
- What financial information should you collect and then what questions should you ask?
- How to get sound professional advice?
Come along to this important conversation about maintaining or improving your financial health now and for the future. This event is suitable for anyone wanting more information on aged care or who is receiving or caring for somebody receiving aged care services.
