Northern Beaches Community Advisory Service

This project is funded jointly by the Australian and New South Wales Governments under the Home and Community Care Program (HACC).  The funding is administered by the NSW Department of Ageing Disability and Home Care (DADHC). 

WHAT DOES THE COMMUNITY ADVISORY SERVICE PROVIDE?

• An initial entry point into the service system on the Northern Beaches, and provides information, referral, assessment and advocacy for individuals within the HACC target group.
• Facilitation of access to formal counselling services for people within the HACC target group who are not eligible for other subsidised counselling services.
• A community resource for other service providers, GPs, acute care staff, and a range of other professionals and community members.
• Education and information services in response to identified needs and issues relating to the HACC target group.
• Assistance in identifying local service gaps and needs, and contribution to the broader planning processes.
