Carer Respite Packages

This project is funded by the Australian Department of Health and Ageing through the Northern Sydney Commonwealth Carer Respite Centre (NSCCRC).  The purpose of the project is to provide ageing carers with a package of services to assist in their caring role for a person with disability.  The carer must be on a waiting list for a Community Aged Care Package.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Ageing carer (Carers over 65 years of age, or 50 years of age if Indigenous), who are caring for a person with disabilities.  Assessment to be undertaken by Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) and the carer needs to be eligible for the CACP Waiting List.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

CCNB is contracted by NSCCRC to case manage a package of support for the carer, within limits set and resources made available by NSCCRC for this purpose.
