Lower North Shore and Manly Warringah Pittwater Respite Service
This project is funded jointly by the Australian and New South Wales Governments under the Home and Community Care Program (HACC). The project is administered through the NSW Department of Ageing Disability and Home Care (DADHC). Its role is to offer an innovative and flexible respite service to the HACC target group. The service provides planned respite and has an on-call service for after hours emergencies. The respite is provided by a paid worker, usually in, or from, the client’s home on a one-to-one basis. The Respite Brokerage Service provides regular planned respite, or “time-out”, for carers. The respite is provided in a flexible way in order to meet the needs of the carer and the person for whom they care.
