Manly Warringah Pittwater In Home Podiatry

This project is funded jointly by the Australian and New South Wales Governments under the Home and Community Care Program (HACC). The project is administered through NSW Health.  The project’s role is to provide in-home podiatry to people within the HACC target group who are housebound or unable to access other community podiatry services.  People accessing this service must need a subsidised service due to financial disadvantage.

WHAT IS THE IN-HOME PODIATRY SERVICE?

The In-Home Podiatry Service provides regular ongoing professional foot care for people in their homes.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

People who:
· are housebound or
· unable to access centre-based podiatry services, and
· are financially disadvantaged

HOW DOES IT WORK?

· A Coordinator will take a referral and ascertain if you are eligible for the service
· The coordinator will make an appointment with you for a Podiatrist to visit and discuss a contribution towards the cost of the service.
· The coordinator will send out a Service Agreement, including rights and responsibilities for the client, complaints procedures, and information regarding privacy and confidentiality policies.
· At the initial visit the Podiatrist will ascertain the need for regular foot care
· If regular foot care is required ongoing appointments will be made approximately every eight weeks or as required.
· The In-Home Podiatry Service pays the Podiatrist and invoices the client for the agreed contribution.

WHAT IS THE COST?

A contribution towards the cost of the direct service will be negotiated on an individual basis, dependent on the ability to pay. No-one will be excluded due to inability to pay.

WHO CAN MAKE A REFERRAL?

Anyone can make a referral to the service.
