posted in: Dementia, Events, News | 0

Our next Dementia Support Group will be held on the first Tuesday of each month

Led by Lynn, our Northern Sydney Dementia Advisor, our Dementia Cafe provides an opportunity for people with dementia and their family and friends to get together, enjoy morning tea and share experiences.

Further Details Below:

  • Date: first Tuesday of each month
  • Time: 10:00-12:00
  • Address: Seeds and Co Cafe (inside Flower Power nursery), 277 Mona Vale Road, Terrey Hills

While not everyone feels the need for support beyond their family and friends, some find it helpful to speak with those outside their immediate circle. A support group can help by introducing you to others living through similar experiences.

During previous meet ups, those attending have shared their personal experiences and offered one another emotional comfort and moral support. Lynn can also offer practical advice and tips to help you cope with your situation.

Our experience has shown that participating in a support group can include benefits such as: feeling less lonely, isolated or judged. They can also create a sense of community.

“It can be helpful just getting to talk with other people who are in the same situation.”
