World Mental Health Day 2016
World Mental Health Day 2016

One in five Australians will experience a mental illness in the next 12 months and almost 50% of us in our lifetimes. This Monday 10th October is World Mental Health Day, a day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy.

CCNB is the lead agency for Partners in Recovery in the Sydney North Shore and Beaches Region – a national program to help people navigate the service systems.

In the last year we have enabled over 256 individuals in our region to create a unique recovery solution.

Poor mental health does not discriminate and there are no willing participants. Barriers to recovery include income, training and employment, housing and homelessness, physical health, unresolved trauma, addictions and isolation. Holistic solutions are required, often involving multiple service providers.

This World Mental Health Day you can make a difference.

How can you help?

Do your bit by sharing our post and help support the North Shore and Beaches Community in three ways:

  1. Encourage help-seeking behaviour
  2. Reduce the stigma associated with mental illness
  3. Foster connectivity in our beautiful community

Share to show you care, because after all, Mental Health begins with Me!
